The official currency is the Russian Ruble (₽)

Most foreign cards (Visa, Mastercard) do not work due to international sanctions

Bring cash in dollars or euros, and exchange at banks

Open a Russian bank account with: Sberbank, VTB, Tinkoff, T-banks

Most stores and services accept Russian bank cards or payment by QR-code as well as cash.
